it4e and Lanaco Paper: Bridging Material Science and Computational Fluid Dynamics
The advancement of filtration science requires a rigorous alignment between material expertise and digital modeling. At FILTECH Exhibition 2026 in Cologne, IT for Engineering (it4e) GmbH will present research featuring one of our EcoStatic® products, EMP-160.
This study utilizes 3D simulations to map aerosol deposition within composite nonwovens. Our team at Lanaco provided the critical material data and test series results to enable this level of computational accuracy.
A primary challenge in modeling involves the precise representation of fiber surface charges. This presentation highlights the integration of EFM to map actual electrical charge properties. These empirical measurements allow the DNSlab simulation software to move beyond theoretical assumptions.
Key presentation highlights:
• Integration of EFM data to reproduce realistic fiber charge distributions. • Performance validation of wool composites in both discharged and untreated states.
• Correlation of measured pressure drops with simulated 3D fluid flow.
It is excellent to see our wool-based technology contributing to the next generation of aerosol filtration simulation. Visit the it4e team in Cologne from 30 June to 2 July to discuss these findings.
