4 October 2022 – UCLA research growth insights: Lanaco has engaged UCLA Anderson School of Management MBA programme to conduct an in-depth study of specific markets in the USA. Supported by NZTE our government business development agency, the engagement will spearhead part of Lanaco activity in growth markets.

Five UCLA executive students are currently engaged in drilling into key market segments. Their aim is to uncover critical insights into the needs of businesses and individuals with regard to their air filtration needs.

Dr Shaun Tan and Nick Davenport visited UCLA in July to participate in the setup of the programme. Then, in mid September two of the five US crew visited Lanaco to get a taste of the technology, literally from the ground up.  Carolanne Link (UCLA) and Allen Chen (Lockheed Martin) visited the plant in Auckland. They also travelled to Wanaka for meetings with Andy Ramsden and Lanaco contract farmers, and of course our source of Astino™ wool.

Lanaco and the UCLA team again met up at the World Filtration Congress in San Diego in early October. The project moves to its conclusion in December.

“The UCLA students have been a great asset to our company,” said Nick Davenport, founder and CEO of Lanaco. “They have brought a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the project, and they have helped us to think outside the box.”

The UCLA research is a win-win for both Lanaco and the UCLA Anderson School of Management. The research is providing Lanaco with valuable insights, and it is also providing the students with an opportunity to gain real-world experience in business research.

Lanaco look forward to UCLA research growth insights.
