You can model a synthetic filter. EcoStatic® made the model pause.
While most things can be modelled given enough time and resources, early attempts by our partners to simulate EcoStatic® using conventional filtration equations and materials science models produced surprising results (stay tuned for updates!).
The maths simply did not add up.
What makes EcoStatic® so different? It is not just wool. It is the proprietary trade secrets behind our unique wool selection, breeding, and processing know-how developed through our flagship Astino® programme over more than 10 years, combined with Lanaco’s specialised manufacturing techniques for producing EcoStatic® filter media.
EcoStatic® harnesses the natural, stable electrostatic properties of these specially selected wool fibres, enhanced through Lanaco’s proprietary mechanical process with no chemical coatings, plasma treatments, or added charge. Our efforts also extend to biobased polymers that conjugate with our wool fibres, naturally enhancing performance. And we do not just use any support layers. We select support materials that amplify EcoStatic®’s performance benefits.
This means EcoStatic® filter media captures particles more efficiently and with lower resistance, without synthetic additives or additional charging methods.
Our new 90-second video explains how wool’s natural electrostatics work in harmony with the filter media structure, delivering a high-performance, biobased solution that stands apart from traditional synthetic materials. It highlights a handful of benefits that make EcoStatic® truly special.

We look forward to sharing more videos and digital simulation studies soon that explore the science behind EcoStatic® in even greater detail.
The future of air filtration is here now.
